So I went to Mayhem Fest last night...

I ended up going late, but it's ok because I got a free ticket. Unfortunately I missed Five Finger Death Punch, which I really wanted to see. I also missed Lamb of God, but they are only "meh" for me anyways, so no big one there. I did get to see Rob Zombie and Korn. Jesus H. Tap-dancing Christ what a show!! Both were totally amazing. J5 did a cover of the EVH Eruption during a guitar solo and did it better than EVH could ever dream of. He also played the Star Spangled Banner with his teeth. Korn ended up doing a Metallica cover, which was awesome. Both Rob Zombie and Korn played amazing sets and a good mix of new and old stuff. Totally worth it for the free ticket

Only meh huh, hmmmm. I saw them at one of the smaller venues here at home and they tore it up, it was an awesome show, contractor is badass live, especially when they hit the grove. The whole place turned into on big pit, but like I said it was a fairly small place.

And my God what a show. Halestorm came on first. I am not a fan by any means, but they had a great stage presence and put on a good show. Not to mention that chick singer SHA-WING. Stone Sour played a great set. Avenged Sevenfold was thoroughly amazing. I had never seen them live before and was really impressed with them live. Of course Disturbed was incredible. They even did a little something extra because this was their hometown stop on the tour. I was hugely impressed with the evening overall. And the best part: It was FREE!!
