we have a really big indoors place called BFG Sports (http://www.bfgpaintball.com/) in Milwaukee. I have never been there, but I hear it is very nice. It is a bit too agg for me as it is only air-ball and speedball...

We have an indoor xball field here that I go to in the fall and winter. It's clean, uses field turf now for nice footing, and it's big enough that you won't get shot off the break. The owner and staff are good people and know what they're doing, so it's a nice place to go for some indoor rec speedball.

my first paintball experience was at an indoor field, which has since closed down, but we have a different indoor field now...I've played there as well...not my favorite style of play, as it always seems to degenerate into speedball style play...plus you get welted alot more, despite the lower FPS limits, due to getting shot by a guy coming around the corner 5 feet away...the owner once bragged about how they hosed the place down every couple of days, but considering "slime alley" (nickname for a certain hallway) and the 1/4 - 1/2 inch of paint covering almost every surface, I doubt that lasted very long...

I much prefer outdoor ball, or even outdoor speedball even, compared to indoor...

Never been to one, the last one I knew of in MD closed down a few years back.

The last indoor field I played in didn't manage to keep the humidity down so the balls were relatively stiff, the paintballs tended to bounce off of you since it was so humid. If you play indoors make sure you take a bounce cap to help protect your noggin.

Don't forget how messy it was, and slippery, we had to walk off the break because there was so much paint and it was so slippery, and btw, get clear lenses, u can't see shiat with tinted lenses indoors

Unfortunately, as Altec pointed out, Charm City Paintball became Charm City Skate Park, and then closed altogther. I have never gotten a chance to play at an indoor field. I'd like to give it a try, but no so much that I'd be willing to go out of my way for it :D

The local joke has been about purchasing the former Sams Club building and turning it into an indoor paintball park. There is nearly 4 acres under roof there! The "downside is the 1.5 million dollar investment in the property... Of course with the property price slump, there may be a chance ot pick it up "cheap" at a cool million or so ;) Anyone have that kinda cash they'd like to invest?

this is whats been going on in my head , the property I been watching has been empty for over a year & down here ( Fla) you still have to run minimum AC or the place goes to hell , so the owner still has a elec bill , still has to pay taxes , its empty so he is losing money on it , like you say its a huge building the worst start up costs would be the astroturf , i"ve even found place's that sell it used ! by the square foot
I',m thinking a couple airball fields , a rec field & a office type setup for the tactial guys , all Air Conditioned
probley just a dream

We have a ton of empty Kroger Grogery stores sitting around now for over a year - wish someone with too much money and time would turn one of the 3 within 15 minutes of me into a paintball field.

i played there i was not that bad i was an urban combat style set up
one room buildings and two floor towers

it was called action zone

like most paintball places the owner of the building kept on upping their rent till no one could afford to play there

however they had a really cool event in the early years

they called it a lock in, play from dusk till dawn
they ordered pizza for everyone and had music playing from big speakers

and i do know of a place near the eastern shore of maryland that has indoor speed ball but have not made it there yet

I've played at a few and my biggest problem with indoor places is all the paintball smegma all over everything. The last time I played indoors I rushed up to a bunker and got all that crap all over my jersey and it stained like crazy. Gooey brown smelly crud.

I had heard of one place that was built in an old chicken processing plant and was set up to drain all the chicken blood and guts and the owners hosed it down at the end of the day.
